I have struggled with brittle nails, dry heels, and thinning hair for a while, but Cevitol has been a game-changer. It is the first collagen product that is actually made a noticeable difference-people have even told me I look younger!
The poder is a easy to use: it dissolves easily, tastes clean, and doesn't have that off-putting fishy smell other brands do. Within a few days, my skin felr smoother and more refreshed. I started with two scoops daily for a boost and now use one to maintain the result. It's affordable effective, and something I'll stick with long-term!
I have sensitive nose, but this collagen is very light and barely noticeable. It mixes well and is easy to take every day, I've been enjoining it as part of my routine. Dietary collagen supplements have been somewhat studied and the main effect seems to be an improvement in skin elasticity and joint health - the effects on nail and hair strength seem to be weak at best, but I wanted to give this a try as I'm well into my 40s. Marine collagen is the superior choice for bioavailability over cow or other animal sources, and this collagen is made from tilapia in Korea. Anyway, on to the product - the powder is very fine and poofs into the air when you open the container, which tends to stick to the exterior sides of the container making it feel sticky when you grab it. If you've ever worked with using gelatin in recipes, this feels almost exactly the same and has a hard time dissolving into cold liquids. It clumps up and looks like cottage cheese floating on the surface of the glass - I have to grind it against the sides of the glass with the back of the spoon where it turns into hard plaque. This seems to be an issue with almost all collagen powders though, so it's not a surprise. The powder is largely flavorless, although I tried drinking it by itself and while it didn't have a clear flavor, it did have a mild scent and mouth feel that were a little unpleasant and I felt that it lingered in my mouth. This isn't the case if you drink it with something else, so I've been mixing it with my daily fiber in the morning. The bottle comes with a plastic scoop with a very long handle - the overall length is about half the height of the container and about a half inch wider than the diameter, so it doesn't fit into the container easily until you've used about 1/4 of the powder and can dig it down into the powder. Despite these small annoyances, I do notice that my skin seems to be a little tighter after three weeks and the paint in my knee that's been bugging me as I go up the stairs to work in the morning has faded away. If you believe in dietary collagen supplementation, this is a good product.
When added to just plain water, the taste isn't pleasant TO ME. I have been adding it to my morning green smoothies, however, and it adds to the thickness of the smoothies but I couldn't taste it. I haven't tried to add it to any other beverages and I likely won't and will just use it in smoothies as I don't want to take a chance with it affecting the taste of the beverage.
